The Hudson Valley Building Trades Sign A Labor Usage Agreement With Central Hudson Gas & Electric ‘That Will Put Local Union Workers On The Job With The Utility’s Major Construction Projects’

Hank Gross at The Hudson Valley News reports the Hudson Valley Building and Construction Trades Council and Central Hudson Gas & Electric have signed a Labor Usage Agreement that puts skilled local Union Workers on the job with the Utility’s major construction projects in the Hudson Valley. Under the policy, Central Hudson projects more than $1.5 million that does not carry Prevailing Wage requirements will be performed under a Project Labor Agreement (PLA) and projects over $375,000 that include Prevailing Wage will be performed by Union Workers. “Our Members build the infrastructure that keeps the Hudson Valley running and this policy means they’ll be the ones doing that work for years to come. Central Hudson has been a real partner to the Building Trades. They invest in this region, they hire local and they put that commitment in writing. That’s what a good employer does and it’s why our Members stand with Central Hudson,” said Todd Diorio, who serves as the President of the Hudson Valley Building and Construction Trades Council and as Chairman of the New York State Laborers’ PAC and Special International Representative. Central Hudson President Stephanie Raymond said the agreement “marks an important milestone for Central Hudson and our Labor partners.” She said the agreement “recognizes that successful infrastructure projects depend on Skilled Workers, strong Labor-Management relationships and a shared commitment to the communities we serve.”
