More Than 1,300 32BJ SEIU-Represented Building Service Workers Across Westchester County & The Hudson Valley ‘Win The Largest Raises Ever In A New Four-Year Contract’
Ben Cmic at The Daily Voice reports from White Plains that more than 1,300 Union-represented Building Service Workers employed across Westchester County and the Hudson Valley are going to receive their largest wage increase ever after ratifying a new four-year contract. 32BJ Service Employees International Union (SEIU) represents more than 5,000 Property Service Workers (Doorpersons, Porters, Building Superintendents and Maintenance Workers) throughout the Hudson Valley, including the 1,300 Residential Building Employees covered by the new contract with the Building and Realty Institute of Westchester and the Mid-Hudson Region. Workers will receive $4-per-hour wage increases over the four-year contract, which the Union described as its largest raises ever. The deal also includes pension improvements while maintaining existing Health Care Benefits without requiring Workers to contribute toward insurance premiums. Additionally, the contract preserves overtime protections and benefits eligibility.
