The State Of Maryland ‘Registers The Nation's First’ Artificial Intelligence Project Management Apprenticeship
The State of Maryland Apprenticeship and Training Council has registered the first Registered Apprenticeship in the United States dedicated to Artificial Intelligence (AI) Project Management - a two-year paid pathway into leading AI deployment inside organizations. The sponsor is Master of Project Academy, a Project Management Training Provider founded in 2012. Chris Monroe, who serves as CEO of the Master of Project Academy, said: "Every company deploying AI needs people on its own payroll accountable for that last mile - across every vendor and every model type. This Apprenticeship builds them the way Skilled Professions have always been built: Paid, mentored and on the job." The program pairs 4,000 hours of mentored on-the-job learning with 340 hours of related instruction - 219 of them AI-specific - and is registered under the U.S. Department of Labor Occupation Information Technology Project Manager. Apprentices are full-time W-2 Employees of participating employers from day one - paid employment, not tuition.
