Starbucks Workers United (SBWU) is calling on supporters to boycott the Coffee Chain until they settle a fair contract, an escalation in the Workers’ ongoing effort to secure their first contract. The open-ended campaign has been added to the National AFL-CIO’s official boycott list. Roughly 12,000 Baristas have joined the Union since 2021, but the corporation has yet to settle a deal with fair pay, adequate hours, improved staffing and workplace protections. “At a time when Working-Class People across the country are struggling in a challenging economy, it is no longer possible to be both a Starbucks customer and in support of Workers,” the SBWU said. “Choosing to spend money at Starbucks is choosing a law-breaking corporation over the baristas who make your coffee every day exactly as you ask for it.”
