Tentative Contract Agreement Reached Between Five Teamster Locals & Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits - Picket Lines Are Down After A Short Strike Involving Locals In Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Albany & Middletown

The Teamsters have announced on Social Media (Facebook) that a tentative contract agreement has been reached between five Teamster Locals and Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirts, ending a short Strike that involved its Locals in Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Albany and Middletown. Those Teamster Locals included Buffalo Area Teamsters Local 449, Rochester Area Teamsters Local 118, Syracuse Area Teamsters Local 317, Albany Area Teamsters Local 294 and Middletown Area Teamsters 445. Details on the tentative agreement were not immediately available. On July 31st, Teamster Members had overwhelmingly rejected a previously-bargained tentative agreement, according to Union posts on Social Media. No specific reasons were given for the rejection. Southern Glazer's is the largest Alcohol Distributor in the U.S., with projected revenue of $25.5 billion. Industry estimates often put the company in the neighborhood of $50 billion to $60 billion. Its annual revenue is ranked about $25 billion to $26 billion, making it one of the 10 largest Private Companies in the United States.
