The new programs include accelerated certification options for career changers and alternative certification candidates, along with Apprenticeship-style models that allow aspiring Teachers and current School Employees to earn teaching credentials while continuing to work. Officials say the new pathways are designed to help career changers and aspiring teachers earn certification more quickly. Some participants will be able to work in schools while completing their teacher training through Apprenticeship-style programs. State Leaders say the initiative will also improve recruitment efforts.
