Christian Hans at NewsOn6.com reports six Oklahoma Universities will begin offering new Teacher Preparation Programs in August as part of a Statewide effort to strengthen Oklahoma’s Educator Workforce and create more pathways into the profession. The new programs include accelerated certification options for career changers and alternative certification candidates, along with Apprenticeship-style models that allow aspiring Teachers and current School Employees to earn teaching credentials while continuing to work. Officials say the new pathways are designed to help career changers and aspiring teachers earn certification more quickly.
