(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – National AFL-CIO President Liz Shuler has released the following statement regarding what must be done by Organized Labor prior to the November Mid-Term Election:

We have less than 130 days - that’s how long we have until Election Day to launch the biggest, most organized electoral campaign that our movement has ever created to elect lawmakers who will fight for us, not the unchecked billionaires running the White House.

Every hard-fought contract this Administration has shredded, every dollar it has taken from essential Social Services to cut taxes for the rich and every Working Person who has been targeted by campaigns of terror, all of it is why we need to show up like never before this November.

At our Convention earlier this month, the AFL-CIO launched its 2026 Mid-Term Political Campaign - The P.O.W.E.R. Program:

P: Protect the vote and ensure every Member can safely cast their ballot.

O: Organize new labor strongholds led by Workers.

W: Win crucial races that determine the future of Workers' Rights.

E: Engage our baseline through authentic, peer-to-peer contact.

R: Right Now: Mobilize Right Now. Action today creates victory tomorrow.

We’re recruiting 50,000 Election Protection Volunteers and turning out at least two million more new Members to ensure Working People have their voices heard at the ballot box and put Pro-Worker candidates into office.

We are in the fight of our lives.

What happens in November will directly impact our lives, our Unions and our communities.

Let’s get this done.
