Teamsters-Represented Brookfield Zoo Workers Reach Tentative Contract Agreement To End ULP Strike

Sara Tenenbaum at CBS News Chicago reports Teamsters Local 727, which represents about 100 Members employed at the Brookfield Zoo, has reached a tentative contract agreement to end a three-day Unfair Labor Practice (ULP) Strike. The four-year agreement reportedly includes a 20% wage increase over the course of the contract. The Zoo has also agreed to continue to ensure health care plans through an increased contribution, as well as to enhancements to staffing for the Animal Care and Facilities Teams. The Teamsters represent Animal Care Specialists, Patrol Officers, Custodians, Groundskeepers, Patrol Officers, Aides and Seasonal Workers.
