The Workers of Clean Water Action and the Clean Water Fund have announced the formation of the Clean Water Guild, uniting employees of Clean Water Action and Clean Water Fund as a part of The NewsGuild-Communications Workers of America (CWA). 

As the boots-on-the-ground force behind one of the Nation’s founding grassroots Environmental Non-Profits, the work done by the Staff of Clean Water Action and Clean Water Fund is essential.

However, Clean Water Action and the Clean Water Fund cannot enact change externally if its Workers are not unified within and throughout the organization itself.

It is therefore vital to the organization’s success in daily operations, and success in the wider Environmental Movement as a whole, that the Workers apply the same skills utilized to safeguard the ecological environment in order to protect, nourish and sustain their workplace ecosystem. 

Ellie Zarrow, a Field Canvass Trainer with Clean Water Action in Philadelphia, said: “I am organizing for a Union at Clean Water Action because it is essential that we practice what we preach. Advocating for the power of the people, the importance of making our voices heard, starts in our own offices.”

As such, the leadership of Clean Water Action and the Clean Water Fund has been invited to continue standing tall in the legacy of uplifting people, action, and justice in voluntarily recognizing the Clean Water Guild as a National Bargaining Unit, with the support of both the Minnesota Newspaper and Communications Guild Local 37002 and the Pacific Media Workers Guild Local 39521.
