No Kings Day 3.0: Union Members Across The Country Were In The Streets ‘To Powerfully Say That Our Government Doesn’t Answer To A King - It Answers To Working People’
(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – Mark Gruenberg at People’s World reports sponsors of No Kings Day 3.0 that was held on Saturday (March 28th) had urged all to increase their activism and recruit even more people for what they hope will be the largest demonstration in U.S. History. Their objective with the protest, again, was to show the leader of the corporate-backed ruling class, President Donald Trump, that the U.S. people are unafraid of him and that they mean to take the country back. The National AFL-CIO and the Nation’s four largest Unions agreed. A major objective this time around, organizers said, is to recruit those who until now have just been standing on the sidelines - uninvolved. And as a result, they said they received positive responses from people who say they have voted for Trump as many as three times. On the No Kings website the following was posted: “The President thinks his rule is absolute. But in America, we don’t have kings - and we won’t back down against chaos, corruption, and cruelty.” Dr. Maria Steffens, an academic who studies mass movements in the U.S., said: “Each No Kings has gotten bigger and spread to more communities in rural and deeply conservative parts of the country. That includes those who voted for the present President. This is not about red versus blue. It’s about need versus greed and about freedom versus authoritarianism.”

National AFL-CIO President Liz Shuler released the following statement before the rallies took place on Saturday: Since Inauguration Day, the corporate-backed, Anti-Worker agenda laid out in Project 2025 has been playing out day after day in news headlines. The Trump Administration has made it a priority to upend hard-fought Union contracts that protect both Federal Workers and the integrity of our Government agencies, drain our social safety nets in favor of tax breaks for the richest people on the face of the Earth, and rip away health care from millions. This is an all-out assault on Working Families. And the Labor Movement is taking action, speaking up and fighting back! Union Members across the country will be in the streets on Saturday, March 28th for No Kings Day to powerfully say that our government doesn’t answer to a king - it answers to Working People.
