WGAE Members At CBS News 24/7 ‘Deliver Strike Pledge’ To CBS/Paramount Management

(NEW YORK CITY) - Writers Guild of America East (WGAE) Members employed at CBS News 24/7 have delivered a Strike pledge to CBS/Paramount management demanding a fair contract. The pledge was signed by 95% of the 60-Member Bargaining Unit. The current CBS News 24/7 Union contract expired on March 9th. The Strike pledge addressed to management read: “We, the undersigned Writers Guild of America East Members at CBS News 24/7, sign this Strike pledge calling on the company to meet us where we are at on our most important issues: Guaranteed wage increases; Meaningful overtime rules; Protected Union jurisdiction; and Flexible work from home protections. Our colleagues on the Bargaining Committee have put in significant time and effort to negotiate our new contract. We pledge to support them and will participate at minimum in a 24-hour walkout and Strike if necessary to win a contract that protects the things that matter to us the most. We call on management to reach a fair deal with our Union at our last scheduled bargaining date. We pledge to walk out and, if necessary, Strike for a fair contract.” The WGAE represents more than 7,500 Members working in film, television, news, podcasts and on-line media.
