Palms Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas has become a 100% Union workplace after Front Desk Workers voted for Teamsters Local 986 representation. The 34 Workers join 100 Teamsters already employed by the property. The Front Desk Workers - who handle guest check-ins and check-outs, customer inquiries, and manage inventory - became Teamsters to secure higher wages, better benefits and improved working conditions. “It takes courage to stand up and speak out, but it takes unity to create real change,” said Krista Frehner, a Front Desk Agent of 13 years and a new Member of Local 986. “Today, we chose unity.”
