With The Focus On Artificial Intelligence Protections, CWA-Represented Journalists & Staffers Open New Contract Bargaining At The New York Times

Communications Workers of America (CWA)-represented Journalists and Staffers have kicked off contract bargaining at The New York Times. Decked out in red, the New York Times Guild Members - represented by The NewsGuild (TNG)-CWA Local 31003, entered into bargaining with five core demands: Wage increases; Remote work flexibility; Protections against the misuse of Artificial Intelligence (AI); A guarantee Union jobs remain staffed by Guild Members and affordable health care. The Guild represents nearly 1,500 Staffers at The Times. Their current contract expires on February 26th.
