Jackson Hole Mountain Resort Ski Patrol File Petition For Union Election

Ski Patrollers employed at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort have filed a petition with the National Labor Relations Board to join Communications Workers of America Local 7781/United Mountain Workers. This is the latest push by First Responders at Mountain Resorts for a fair contract that ensures fair wages for the essential work they perform. In addition to being one of the wealthiest counties in the country, Teton County, Wyoming also has the largest income-inequality gap. Tyler Babcock, a nine-year Patroller, said: “We are career First-Responders doing one of the most dangerous jobs in North America, yet many of us struggle to afford to live in the community we serve. This is about professionalism and sustainability. Among what we seek is reasonable and equitable compensation. We hope to see the same level of accountability from our resort management that we have for the safety of our guests. A Union gives us a seat at the table to build a better future for the Jackson Hole Ski Patrol.”
