‘Grind To A Halt’ - Striking Starbucks Workers Say Company ‘Has Made No Contact’
Greta Cross at USA TODAY reports thousands of Unionized Starbucks Workers remain on Strike across the country as the Coffee Chain debuted a new holiday beverage earlier this week. Strikers are on day seven (on Thursday, November 20th) of their nationwide Red Cup Rebellion. Starbucks Workers United, which represents Employees at about 550 of the chain's estimated 10,000 U.S. locations, says many of its 65 participating stores had to close because of the Strike. Union Officials tell USA TODAY Starbucks Workers United has not received any communication from the company since the Strike began. Starbucks Workers United's three core demands are better hours, higher take-home pay and resolutions for alleged Unfair Labor Practices. The Union says the Strike will not end until the company presents a fair and serious contract for consideration.
