Delta Air Lines Flight Attendants Picket In Atlanta For Union Representation
WABE/PBS-NPR reports Flight Attendants for Delta Air Lines picketed outside Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport last week in support of Unionizing. The Workers are looking to join the Association of Flight Attendants-Communications Workers of America. Improved health care is one of the benefits Delta’s Flight Attendants seek. Organizer Kara Wargo is one of Delta’s about 29,000 Flight Attendants: “With our Flight Attendants and our Pilots and our Air Traffic Controllers and our Rampers, we are what keeps planes in the air - and these planes don’t leave without our work.” Wargo said organizing efforts will intensify as the Flight Attendants head into the Holiday Season. Delta Ramp Workers are also actively trying to Unionize with the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers.
