CSEA To Nassau County’s District Attorney’s Office - ‘Keep Our Jobs Human!’

(MINEOLA, NEW YORK) - More than 200 Civil Service Employees Association (CSEA) Members and supporters recently took part in CSEA/Nassau County Local’s rally aimed against the Nassau County District Attorney’s unprecedented use of bots to perform case-input work. The State Employees Union, which represents Paralegals, Clerks and Support Staff, has accused the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office of using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to undercut its Members’ overtime pay - violating the terms of their contract. The use of bots, defined as an autonomous program on the Internet or another network that can interact with systems or users, is a blatant violation of CSEA’s contractual agreement with the county, Union Officials said. The Union has filed a claim with the New York State Public Employment Relations Board. CSEA Nassau County Local President Kris Kalender spoke at the rally, emphasizing the need for Labor Unions to fight to protect their jobs and their futures.
