Staff At Citizens For Responsibility And Ethics In Washington ‘Go Union,’ Join The Nonprofit Professional Employees Union

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) - The Staff of Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) has officially Unionized as CREW United, joining the Nonprofit Professional Employees Union – International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers (IFPTE) Local 70 (NPEU).

CREW’s management voluntarily recognized the Union, which was certified through Card Check in early September.

Union Members and management are looking forward to beginning the process of negotiating a first Collective Bargaining Agreement that embodies their shared commitment to transparency, fairness and sustainability.

“We are thrilled to welcome CREW United to NPEU,” NPEU President Amy Chin-Lai said. “By choosing to come together in a Union, CREW Staff are ensuring their workplace embodies the very same values they fight for every day. We look forward to supporting them as they negotiate their first contract.”

Noah Bookbinder, the President and CEO of CREW, said: “CREW is committed to maintaining an organization that allows our Employees to thrive and effectively work every day to defend our Democracy. We’re proud to voluntarily recognize our Staff Union, CREW United, and look forward to working with them to continue strengthening our workplace.”

“CREW United is a testament to both our commitment to CREW’s work and our belief in its values. This effort is about building a stronger, fairer workplace where we can bring our best selves to CREW’s critical mission,” said Honora Overby, a Member of the CREW United Organizing Committee. “We are grateful for management’s openness and excited to collaborate on building lasting structures that will support our staff and strengthen CREW’s impact.”
