Rochester, Minnesota’s Plumbers And Pipefitters Local 6 ‘Expands To House More Classrooms’

Sam Covone at KIMT-TV 3 News reports Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 6 is expanding its facilities to accommodate the growing need for Apprentices in Rochester, Minnesota. The expansion will add more than 3,000 square feet, resulting in a total of eight classrooms dedicated to hands-on learning. The new building, which was bought in 2023, was previously used for parking. It will now house large classrooms specifically designed for hands-on training. The Apprenticeship Program has seen a significant increase in participants, with 37 Apprentices enrolled this year, marking the largest class in recent years. This five-year program provides Apprentices with multiple licenses and certifications upon completion. Classes include 10,000 hours of on-the-job training. Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 6 aims to complete the expansion by August 1st of 2026 as classes are set to begin in September.
