IUPAT District Council 4 To Host The Seventh Annual Glass & Glazing Forum In Cheektowaga On Thursday - Free Event ‘Highlights The Strength’ Of The Western & Central New York Glazing Industry
(CHEEKTOWAGA, NEW YORK) - International Union of Painters and Allied Trades (IUPAT) District Council 4 will host the seventh annual Western & Central New York Glass and Glazing Forum on Thursday (October 17th) at the Building Trades Union’s Training Center, located on Aero Drive in the Buffalo Suburb of Cheektowaga.
This free, community and professional-centered event brings together local and regional Contractors, Architects, Suppliers, Developers, Political Figures, Tradespeople and more for a day of hands-on learning, networking and demonstrations that highlight the strength of the Western and Central New York’s Glazing Industry.
A key feature of this year’s forum will be live Architectural Glass & Metal Technician (AGMT) testing, giving attendees an inside look at the rigorous performance, safety and quality standards that Certified Glaziers must meet.
Head Event Organizer Frank Stento and Event Coordinator Don Meyers, a Glazier himself, said: “The AGMT test represents the highest level of professionalism and competence in our Trade. We’re showing local builders, designers and the public exactly what it means to have qualified, safe and trained Professionals working on their projects. We’re surrounded by glass and glazing work every day and rarely do we think of how well trained the installer is. The public and end users should expect and demand a Certified Skilled Tradesperson working on these projects.”
The forum also serves as a gateway to good-paying, life-long careers in the Finishing Trades.
Apprenticeship and Training Staff will be on-site to discuss pathways into the Glazing Industry, including opportunities for Women, Veterans and young people seeking a rewarding, debt-free career in the trades.
Attendees can also earn free AIA Continuing Education Credits, meet with regional vendors and explore the latest innovations in glass and building envelope design.
IUPAT District Council 4 represents Members across 33 New York State Counties - throughout Western and Central New York.
IUPAT DC 4 Editor’s Note: The event runs from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and is free to attend, with registration available at www.WNYGlazingExpo.com.
