‘Inside The Largest Gathering Of Unionized Tradeswomen In The World’ There’s Talk Of Trump’s Tariffs & ‘How They Will Slow Down’ Commercial Building Construction
Women make up only 4% of Construction Workers on job sites who work with tools. And now, some are worried Trump’s tariffs on building supplies will slow down commercial building construction. But in Chicago over this past weekend, more than 5,000 Unionized Construction Workers from all over the U.S. and Canada gathered in Chicago, all of them Women. They came to talk about working in what's still very much a man's world - and some are worried things could get harder. Andrea Hsu, Ayesha Rascoe and Hadeel Al-Shalchi from National Public Radio sat down with some of the Women who attended the Unionized Tradeswomen gathering in order to find out what they had to say: Inside the largest gathering of unionized tradeswomen in the world, talk of tariffs : NPR
