Workforce Development Board Announces 15-Week Skilled Trade Training Program In Utica, New York That Offers Direct Entry Into Union-Sponsored Apprenticeship Pathways

Josh McMullen at WUTR Utica reports the the Workforce Development Board of Herkimer, Madison, and Oneida Counties, Incorporated has announced a new 15-week training program for people looking to get into the Skilled Trades. Project Director Meghan McBennett said: “MV Build equips local residents for high-demand careers in the Skilled Trades. (It) offers individuals the opportunity to gain in-demand skills - including construction math, blueprint reading and hands-on experience with hand and power tools, and industry-recognized certifications. This fifteen-week, (140)-hour course prepares participants for direct entry into the Skilled Trades through Union-sponsored Apprenticeship pathways. Participants earn while they learn, making success achievable and offering a viable path to economic stability for individuals and their families, while also contributing to the growing workforce needs of the Mohawk Valley. This is more than just a training program - it’s an investment in families and in the future of the Mohawk Valley.”
