UFCW-Represented Colorado Safeway Workers Reach A Tentative Contract Agreement That Features Wage Increases, Seniority-Based Bonuses & Fully-Funded And Improved Health Care Benefits
CBS Colorado reports United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) Local 7, which represents thousands of Grocery Store Workers in Colorado and Wyoming, has reached a tentative contract agreement with Safeway to end a Strike impacting some 50 stores across The State of Colorado. The UFCW said it secured several demands, including wage increases, seniority-based bonuses, fully-funded and improved health care benefits, an expanded vacation cash-out policy, and the termination of temporary replacement Workers. The Strike had begun in early June following nine months of failed negotiations, the Union said at the time. The Strike had spread to 46 of Safeway's 103 stores across the State and included a Distribution Center in Denver.
