Another Result Of Electing An Anti-Union President: The American Federation Of Government Employees Says The Downsizing Of Its Staff, Which Comes After Trump's Executive Order, ‘Threatens The Very Survival Of The Union’

Ryan J. Foley at The Associated Press reports American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) National President Everett Kelley says his Union’s ongoing Staff downsizing will devastate the services it provides Members and threatens the Union’s survival. Kelley, who heads the Nation’s largest Union for Federal Workers, said an Executive Order signed by President Trump in March removed more than 200,000 of its dues-paying Members, or about two-thirds of the total. The AFGE and other Unions are fighting the order in Court as illegal and retaliatory, but Kelley said the order has already taken a “very direct hit” on the group’s finances because agencies stopped collecting Union Dues from paychecks.
