Graduate Workers Hold Informational Picket Ahead Of Planned University Of Rochester Strike, Workers ‘Upset The University Is Refusing To Allow A Fair’ Union Election Process

WHAM 13 ABC reports Graduate Workers at the University of Rochester held an informational picket on Tuesday (April 15th) to call attention to next week's Strike. They say the Strike is due to the University's refusal to allow a fair Union Election process for the Graduate Workers. The Strike will begin on Monday (April 21st). The group is looking to form a Union as some Graduate Employees make as little as $15,000 a year. "After stalling for over a month, they presented us with what seems like a pretty flimsy pretext of a reason they needed time to think," Graduate Student George Elkind said. "More recently, they've fully backed away from that election agreement."
