United Flight Attendants ‘Pressure’ Management At Airports Worldwide - Including New York City’s LaGuardia Airport, To Pay Aviation’s ‘First Responders’ Their ‘Fair Share’

Flight Attendants and allies recently picketed at nearly 20 airports worldwide to demand United Airlines management remove concessions and deliver the industry-leading contract they’ve earned. The New York City AFL-CIO Central Labor Council joined their Union - the Association of Flight Attendants-Communications Workers of America (AFA-CWA), at LaGuardia Airport, standing in solidarity for fair wages, improved working conditions and recognition of their vital role as aviation's first responders. United Airlines reported record profits of $3.1 billion in 2024. However, Flight Attendants' pay continues to lag behind competitors. The AFA-CWA is calling for significant double-digit base pay increases, compensation for boarding time, retroactive pay, schedule flexibility, job security, and retirement improvements. United Flight Attendants have overwhelmingly voted - by 99.99% - to authorize a Strike if necessary, underscoring the commitment of United flight attendants to secure the contract they deserve.
