Indio Water Authority Workers ‘Go Union’ With The Teamsters - Local 1932 ‘Successfully Organizes Third Water Agency’ In California’s Low Desert

(INDIO, CALIFORNIA) – In a significant victory for communities in the Low Desert, workers at the Indio Water Authority (IWA) have voted overwhelmingly to join Teamsters Local 1932.

These new IAW Teamsters play a critical role in delivering clean, reliable water to the residents and businesses of Indio.

Their decision to stand together and Unionize ensures they have a collective voice to advocate for the fair treatment and workplace protections they deserve.

“This victory is about dignity, respect and a seat at the table for the hard-working Men and women of the Indio Water Authority,” Local 1932 Secretary-Treasurer Randy Korgan said. “Public Service Workers are the backbone of our cities and we are proud to welcome them into our Teamsters Family. Together, we will continue to fight for fair wages, stronger benefits and workplace protections that allow these workers to thrive.”

With Desert Water Agency, Coachella Valley Water District - and now the Indio Water Authority joining the Teamsters, Local 1932 stands in a stronger position than ever before to deliver quality, Union water to the Low Desert.

Teamsters Local 1932 represents more than 16,000 workers across the Inland Empire.
