320 University Of California Financial Analysts ‘Go Union,’ Join The Teamsters

(OAKLAND, CALIFORNIA) – Teamsters Local 2010 has won Union Representation for 320 University of California (UC) Financial Analysts, with the State Labor Board ruling the Workers were misclassified as Non-Union by their employer.
“We are thrilled to welcome more than (300) Financial Analysts to our fast-growing Union,” said Jason Rabinowitz, who serves as Local 2010’s Secretary-Treasurer. “We’re proud of all we’ve achieved building the size and strength of (Local 2010). Together, we have built the ‘Member Power’ that has won strong contracts and unprecedented raises for our Members and their families.”
More than 17,500 UC Administrative Workers are represented by Local 2010, with nearly 5,000 added just in the last five years through accretion, which allows unrepresented Workers to join an existing Bargaining Unit.
The California Public Employment Relations Board (PERB) has recognized the UC Workers rightly belong to Local 2010’s Clerical and Allied Services (CX) Unit.
Local 2010’s Member Power Campaign has translated directly into higher wages for Members.
The Teamsters difference is clear: the CX Unit went from five years of no raises and no contract under its previous representation, to winning the best contracts in the Unit’s history.
By the time the current CX Unit contract expires later this year, Teamsters will have won a compounded 83% in pay increases since 2011.
Teamsters Local 2010 represents 23,000 Members who are employed in California education.
