900 NYSNA-Represented Nurses Employed At Northwell Health's South Shore University Hospital In Bay Shore Set To Strike On March 17th - Union Members Seek Fair Contract That Also Addresses Nurse Shortage
Kelly Gooch at Becker’s Hospital Review reports New York State Nurses Association (NYSNA)-represented Nurses have set a March 17th Strike date at Northwell Health's South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore. The Union represents more than 900 Nurses at the hospital. NYSNA and hospital management began negotiating a new contract in November. The Nurses' previous contract expired on February 28th. Union Members voted to authorize a Strike last month. NYSNA contends management has failed to agree to a fair labor deal that retains enough experienced Nurses to provide safe patient care to patients.
