Workers employed at Equis Research have announced their intention to form a Union. Equis is an organization that seeks to increase Latino political power and well-being through top-of-the-line research on Latino voters, as well as long-term cultural and political initiatives. The Workers hope to ensure that mission also extends to them - the very individuals responsible for bringing Equis’ mission to life. More than 80% of the Staff across various departments and teams signed cards expressing their desire to form the Equis Staff Guild and become part of the Washington Baltimore News Guild/The NewsGuild-Communications Workers of America. In a letter sent to management, the Workers declared: “By coming together as a Union, we hope to solidify the positive working environment we currently enjoy, ensuring that all Employees have a voice in shaping the future of our company.” The letter also included a request to voluntarily recognize their Union.
