Jaewon Kang at Bloomberg reports the Teamsters have reached a tentative contract agreement with Costco Wholesale, avoiding for now a Strike by thousands of Unionized Employees. The deal between the Retailer and the Union, which represents less than 10% of the company’s 219,000 Employees in the U.S., had been set to expire late Friday (January 31st). Costco and the Union have been in talks for weeks, with Workers authorizing a Strike in early January. Workers have demanded better benefits and pay to reflect inflation and the rising cost of living. A ratification vote will be held soon, the Union said.
