The Associated Press reports Workers employed at a Whole Foods Market in Philadelphia have voted to Unionize, becoming the first group of Workers to Go Union at the Amazon-owned Grocery Store Chain. Fifty-seven-percent of the store’s Employees voted in favor of joining United Food & Commercial Workers Local 1776. The results mark the first successful entry of Organized Labor into Amazon’s Grocery Business, which includes Whole Foods, Amazon Fresh and the Amazon Go convenience stores. Amazon purchased Whole Foods in 2017 and has tried to fend off organizing efforts in its stores as well as by Delivery Drivers and Warehouse Workers.
