Advancing Bills Promote AI Apprenticeships In The State Of New Jersey, Explore Tech’s Impact On Labor
Matthew Fazelpoor at NJBIZ reports the New Jersey State Assembly Science, Innovation and Technology Committee has approved a pair of measures aimed at supporting the State’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) efforts. Assembly Bill 4935 would establish an AI Apprenticeship Program in the State Labor Department. The program would collaborate with AI companies to offer Apprenticeship opportunities, facilitate partnerships between employers and schools, and assist employers in establishing Apprenticeships - as well as create an AI Apprenticeship Tax Credit Program. Assembly Bill 4888 would establish the AI and Labor Market Study Commission, which would assess the impact of AI on the labor market to identify ways to address job loss and find opportunities where AI training could further bolster the workforce.
