For The Past 12 Weeks, 1,700 Union-Represented Mental Health Care Professionals Employed Within The Kaiser Permanente Health System In California Have Been On Strike
For the past 12 weeks, Unionized Mental Health Care Professionals who work for the Kaiser Permanente Health System have been on Strike in the State of California. Talks between the National Union of Healthcare Workers (NUHW) and Kaiser broke down in October. Since that time, more than 1,700 Kaiser Mental Healthcare Employees have been without a paycheck and patients have been without their full mental health services. Union Members want a defined pension like other Kaiser Employees, as well as their pay at the same level as other Kaiser employees in Northern California. These Kaiser Mental Health Care Workers also say they need more time to schedule their patients, which is overloading their workloads.
