University Of California Workers On Strike ‘After Rejecting’ $25 Minimum Wage
Jenny Goldsberry at The Washinton Examiner reports 37,000 Unionized Employees of the University of California (UC) conducted a two-day Strike (beginning on Wednesday, November 20th) this week - months after rejecting the latest offer. The Strike across 10 campuses, five medical centers and labs came as a result of what the Service and Patient Care Workers allege is unfair bargaining. American Federation of State, County & Municipal Employees (AFSCME) Local 3299 filed a complaint to the Public Employment Relations Board when UC raised premiums by 2% and co-pays by 50%, among other changes, without informing its Employees.
