In Utah, ‘Fast Track Your Career With An Apprenticeship’
(SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH) – Next week (November 17th through the 23rd) is National Apprenticeship Week and the Utah has more than 4,000 Apprentices and more than 285 Registered Programs across the State.
Scott Romney serves as the Apprenticeship Commissioner with Workforce Services, and shares the benefits of a career match-up: Registered Apprenticeships are a great alternative to a traditional college education; Apprenticeships are one of the many pathways that lead to a successful career; They put you on a career path to earn a great living, without a ton of college debt; and Incremental wage increases, job security and a portable, National or Industry-Recognized Credential, Certificate or Degree.
When you’re hired as an Apprentice, you’re considered an Employee and will get paid during your training while learning valuable skills.
In Utah, Apprentices make up to $67,000 a year upon completion of their Apprenticeship.
There are more than 4,700 Apprentices in Utah.
You can find Apprenticeships in automotive, construction, information technology, manufacturing, transportation, health care and more.
There was even a new Teacher Apprenticeship Program that was registered this past year.
