Military Veterans ‘Are Valued In This Local Apprenticeship Program’
Vicki Salemi at The New York Post reports on Military Veterans who are finding new livelihoods by taking Unionized Building Trades Apprenticeship Programs. Salemi focuses a spotlight on a program in Deer Park, Long Island - the Building Trades Educational Benefit Fund Apprenticeship Program that is affiliated with International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local Union 363. Paul Iaccarino, who serves as Educational Director at the Building Trades Educational Benefit Fund, said Veterans are valued in the program because they “already possess superior qualities and skills compared to other Apprentices and they are more likely to succeed in Apprenticeship Programs.”
