The Biden-Harris Administration Announces $3 Billion ‘To Strengthen Port Infrastructure & Create Good-Paying Union Jobs’
President Biden traveled to the Port of Baltimore last week to announce a $3 billion investment from the Inflation Reduction Act to improve and electrify port infrastructure while supporting Union job creation. The Clean Ports Program funding will help update shipping and cargo infrastructure at 55 sites nationwide, sustaining an estimated 40,000 quality Union jobs while reducing pollution and combating the Climate Crisis. This funding allocation continues to illustrate how economic growth and clean energy goals are not oppositional aims. Currently, the Biden-Harris Administration’s Investing in America agenda has delivered over $13 billion for more than 970 projects in Maryland, spurring over $3 billion in Private Sector investments.
