Canisius University Professors’ Union Holds Picket/Teach-In ‘To Protest $15 Million In Cuts’ To The Buffalo University’s Operating Budget, Professors ‘Demand Their Hard Work Be Fairly Compensated’

(BUFFALO, NEW YORK) – Members of American Association of University Professors-American Federation of Teachers (AAUP-AFT) Local 6741 employed at Canisius University held a picket (Photos Courtesy of Derek Seidman's Facebook Posting) and a teach-in Friday (October 24th) following $15 million in “drastic cuts” recently announced by the College’s President.

The action was also held to address the compensation Members of the Professor’s Union say they deserve.  In addition, the Unionized Professors also claim they have not received Cost-of-Living Adjustments (COLA) in the last 10 years and that retirement and health care benefits have been “slashed” with no negotiations.
