Amid A Strike Threat, Condé Nast Announces It Has Reached A Tentative Contract Deal With The New Yorker Union

Katie Kilkenny at The Hollywood Reporter reports Condé Nast has reached a tentative three-year contract agreement with The New Yorker Union.  Details of the agreement were not immediately available, but Kilkenny reported the new deal broached issues of health care, family leave, paid time off, diversity and career development.  The deal arrives a little over a week since The New Yorker Union threatened a Strike in advance of the publication's annual festival, scheduled to take place at the end of October.  The Union advocated for a flexible policy on work that New Yorker Staffers could perform outside the magazine, claiming management had demanded "overly broad - and highly invasive - restrictions." After around six months of negotiations, the sides were additionally stuck on general wage increases, salary floors and layoff protections.
