With Their Salary & Benefits ‘Having Not Only Flatlined, But Fallen To Nearly 30% Below Comparable’ Orchestras, New York Philharmonic Musicians Represented By AFM Local 802 ‘Fight For A Fair Contract’

(NEW YORK CITY) - Musicians represented by American Federation of Musicians (AFM) Local 802 and employed at the New York Philharmonic are currently in negotiations for a fair contract.

For more than a decade, the Musicians' salary and benefits have flatlined and have now fallen nearly 30% below comparable Orchestras in Boston, Chicago, and Los Angeles, AFM Representatives said.

The Unionized Musicians deserve a top-tier contract so the New York Philharmonic can continue to attract and retain the world’s best musicians to bring world-class music to their discerning audiences, Union Officials said.
