Boeing Workers ‘Go On Strike For The First Time In 16 Years After 96% Of The IAM’s Membership Vote To Reject’ Reached Agreement
Eric Lagatta at USA TODAY reports Unionized Boeing Workers walked off the job today (Friday, September 13th) to begin picketing outside the company's plants around Seattle after voting to Strike for the first time since 2008. Tens of thousands of International Association of Machinists (IAM)-represented Employees voted this week to reject a proposed deal. The IAM’s Membership produce Boeing's 737 MAX and other jets in the Seattle and Portland areas. Their rejection was despite the significantly boosted pay and benefits the deal would have offered.
