Robert Tait at The Guardian reports thousands of Hotel Workers went on Strike over the weekend for improved pay and conditions in a dispute likely to disrupt many Labor Day holiday travelers, amid Union warnings that action could escalate. More than 10,000 Workers walked off the job at hotels in Boston, Seattle, Honolulu, Kauai and Greenwich, Connecticut - as well as the Californian Cities of San Francisco, San Diego and San Jose after contract talks with management collapsed. UNITE HERE, which represents Workers in hotels, casinos and airports across the U.S., warned Unionized Hotel Staff in other cities were ready to join the Strike.
