Unionized Disneyland Workers Win 31% Pay Rise After Four-Month Campaign & Strike Vote
Hannah Abraham at Business Insider reports thousands of Unionized Disneyland Workers have accepted a new contract offer from the park, scoring a significant pay rise. The deal provides for hourly wages to increase from $19.90 to $26 over three years - a 31% bump. Park Workers pressured their bosses with rallies and a threat to Strike. The deal mandates an increase in the park's minimum wage from a previous $19.90 to a final $26 after three years. It followed a campaign by a Coalition of four Disney Unions representing 14,000 Workers. During the campaign, Workers had voted to authorize a Strike that would have been the first at the park in 40 years.
