NLRB ‘Nixes’ Trump-Era Rule ‘That Eliminated Common Union Election Strategy’
Daniel Wiessner at Reuters reports the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) has issued a final rule on reviving a tactic commonly used by Unions to delay votes on dissolving Bargaining Units or elections they think they will lose. The rule rescinds a measure adopted by appointees of former Republican President Donald Trump in 2020, which the now Democratic-led Board said could interfere with the right of Employees to make free, informed decisions on Union Representation. It is the latest move by the Biden-era NLRB seen as favoring Unions, after the NLRB last year adopted rules speeding up the Union Election process and created a new path for Unions to organize Workers outside of the long-standing Secret Ballot Election Process.
