LABOR NEWS UPDATE: Bronx Defenders Union Reaches Tentative Agreement, Averting Strike

(NEW YORK CITY) - The Bronx Defenders Union Collective Bargaining Committee (BxD CBC) and Bronx Defenders management have reached a tentative contract agreement, averting a planned Strike that had been scheduled to start on Monday (July 22nd).

Among other provisions, the Union secured 8%-to-10% salary increases, a two-year contract term with the right to Strike for wages after one year in line with Association of Legal Aid Attorneys-United Auto Workers (UAW) Local 2325 sectoral bargaining, a fair, flexible telecommuting policy, and a Free Speech Provision.

"The BxD CBC would like to thank our Union siblings for the trust they placed in us through this process, our amazing Organizers and the community whose support bolstered our resolve," the Union said on Social Media.
