Disney ‘Faces Strike Threat As Thousands Of California Workers Vote On Walkout’
Michael Sainato at The Guardian reports Disney could face the largest Strike in the U.S. this year after it was announced thousands of Theme Park and Hotel Workers in California will vote on whether to stage a walkout. Three Unions representing 14,000 Cast Members at Disneyland, Disney California Adventure, Downtown Disney and the Disney Hotels announced an Unfair Labor Practice (ULP) Strike Vote will be held amid negotiations over a new contract. The Unions accuse Disney of “unlawful discipline and intimidation and surveillance” of union Members. Talks on a new contract began in April.
