Paul Liotta at The Staten Island Advance reports New York City Officials have announced they expect a local effort to create 14,000 new Apprenticeship opportunities by the end of the year.  Mayor Eric Adams announced the Apprenticeship Accelerator Program at his 2023 State of the City address as an effort to create 30,000 new Apprenticeship opportunities by 2030.  The program, within the Mayor's Office of Talent and Workforce Development, aims to build partnerships with employers and training providers to provide New Yorkers with more Apprenticeship opportunities.  Included are more than 1,000 new Union Nurses trained over the past eight months at the City's Public Hospital System as replacements for temporary Nurses employed in the City.
