Teamsters Local 264 Members Ratify New Four-Year Contract At The Tops Supermarkets’ Distribution Center In Suburban Buffalo, Ending A Nearly Four-Day-Old Strike
A new four-year contract has been ratified by Members of Teamsters Local 264, who went on Strike at the Tops Supermarkets’ Distribution Center in Suburban Lancaster on Friday (June 7th). The contract impacts about 590 Warehouse Workers, Drivers, Sanitation Workers and Maintenance Staff. WGRZ-TV in Buffalo reported the Union Workers, who voted down two previous offers, ratified the agreement on Monday (June 10th), ending a nearly four-day walkout. The agreement reportedly included instant signing bonuses of up to $20,000 and a $6 per hour raise over the next four years. Workers reportedly will also get a $2 per hour raise in each of the next two years and a $1 per hour raise in the two years after that. “We’re not looking to put this company out of business, we just want a piece of the pie and what Working People deserve,” Local 264 Business Agent Darrin Ziemba was quoted in The Supply Chain Report.
