Advertising, PR & Marketing Jobs ‘Can Be Stressful & Workers Are Showing Signs Of Job Dissatisfaction’ - ‘So, Could Advertising & Marketing Be On The Brink Of A Union Wave?’
Jill Webb at NPQ reports on Workers employed in advertising, marketing, public relations and social media management are showing signs of job dissatisfaction. So, Webb asks, could these job classifications be on the brink of joining Unions? And, in large numbers? For example, in 2020, 75 Workers employed at Creative Agency Blue State won Union recognition. And Workers at another Political Communications Firm - Middle Seat Consulting, have joined the Campaign Workers Guild, an Independent National Union. Now, internet forums are showing growing signs of Worker interest in Unions, made evident by the various posts on the Reddit thread r/advertising: “Why haven’t we Unionized?”… “How would you feel about joining an advert[is]ing union?”… “Are there unions at any ad agencies in NYC?”
